Our Story
Our goal is to provide one million meals a year.
We wanted to create a sustainable stream of giving that wouldn’t rely on donations. Since September 2015, we’re thrilled that your purchases have helped provide over 35 million meals to children in need! We’re proud that our dolls are made with natural, high-quality cotton because it’s important to us that they’re safe, soft and cuddly.
We’re also super proud that every doll is lovingly handcrafted by incredible women artisans in Peru, providing them with a sustainable, fair trade income. Our whole family is passionate about what we’re doing and loves every doll we make. We sincerely hope you will too.

Nutrition
Every child deserves enough food to eat and the opportunity to thrive. It’s what motivated us to start cuddle+kind and it’s why we give 10 meals to children in need for every doll sold.

Every child deserves an education and needs the energy to learn. It’s why we believe in and support school meal programs around the world.

Opportunity
Every child deserves the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty they were born into. Good nutrition and an education are the keys to this opportunity.

Empowerment
Girls and women should be empowered. Childhood hunger and malnutrition disproportionally affect girls. School meal programs help increase the number of girls who are sent to school to get both a meal and an education.

All the people who make our dolls deserve to be treated with fairness, dignity and kindness. We are committed to ethical production, which means all our artisans are empowered with equitable, sustainable employment and are paid a fair trade wage.
Doing good
We started cuddle+kind as a social endeavor to make a difference in children’s lives. We believe in doing good in business as much as we believe in doing what’s right.
Transparency
We believe in transparency and tangible impact, so we don’t just promise to donate a portion of proceeds, we tell you exactly how many meals your purchase is providing. We audit our meal donation number regularly and always feature the most recent number at the top of our website.
Safety Certified
We believe safety is paramount when it comes to children. Every cuddle+kind doll meets or exceeds the US, CE + Canadian safety requirements for newborn and children’s toys and are tested by a certified third-party facility. The yarn used in making each doll has been additionally tested to be safe and non-toxic.
Handcrafted with Love
Every cuddle+kind doll is a little work of art, handmade with passion and pride in Peru. They are lovingly hand-knit, hand-loomed, embroidered and crocheted stitch by stitch by artisans using knitting expertise that has been handed down for generations. We’re delighted every day by the skill and artistry of our knitters.
